Tennessee!

I'm in Tennessee! Expect to see pictures and updates soon. I'm currently in the cutest Starbuck's I've ever seen in Pigeon Forge. I'm hoping that our cabin will have internet.

**UPDATE**
So, the cabin had little to no internet and I've been so busy since I got back that I haven't had time to upload anything. But I will get to it! We went horseback riding, went to the Titanic museum, had those cheesy old timey pictures done and went to the Biltmore for starters... More to come!

Movies I can't wait to see....

There are so many movies coming out that I cannot WAIT to see!

I am so excited for Tangled. Rapunzel was one of my favorite stories when I was a little girl.
Release date: 11/24/10

Who else loves Pirates of the Caribbean? The movie is already on my calendar.
Release date: 5/20/11

I have always loved all of the Chronicles of Narnia. I read all of the books when I was a little girl and recently re-read all of them. Definitely worth reading if you have the time. They're an easy read and really really good.  (Here's the box set).
And I'm in love with Ben Barnes. *swoon*
Release date: 12/10/10

This one comes out next week! Woo! [Ahem, correction, it comes out THIS week, but I won't be seeing it until next week...]
Release date: 11/19/10

Here's another Grimm's fairy tale brought to life. It looks really good. Anyone else incredibly envious of Amanda Seyfried's hair?
Release date: 3/11/11

Definitely a more serious one, but I love Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter.. And who doesn't love a movie about the British royal family?
Release date: 11/26/10

This one just looks great.. I'm not a huge Vanessa Hudgens fan, but the movie looks like a dark version of Beauty & The Beast. I love it.
Release date: 3/18/11

Did I miss any? What upcoming movies are you looking forward to seeing?

Vitamin String Quartet

Do any of you like classical music? I do.. What can I say? I've played a classical instrument for most of my life. I love playing Mozart and listening to Tchaikovsky (nightmare to play!).

Anywho, one of my music obsessions is the Vitamin String Quartet (here is their blog and twitter). They take everything from ACDC to Coldplay to the Beatles and make their popular songs classical.. It is the coolest thing ever. I play in a string quartet (2 violins, a viola, & a cello) and I would LOVE to get my hands on their sheet music.

Check them out! It will give you a whole new outlook on classical AND modern music.. Look them up on iTunes, or here are a few of my favorite ones on Amazon:

I love new things...

Here are some more things that I got in the ATL.. And in the order I wore them. :)
Anthropologie.. Pink & navy stripes.. Super comfortable and on sale for $19.95.
Another purchase from Loehmann's.. This one is Free People; originally $100, I got it for $40.

And last, but definitely not least, the boots....
I love these boots.. I got these on sale at Macy's.
My boss told me that I should go to the Renaissance fair in these.. Ha..
I wish we had a Macy's.. Did I mention I love these?

A Couple of My Purchases

Here are a couple of my purchases from the Atlanta trip:

First I have an Anthropologie dress (here). They said it had just come in the day before. It fit me PERFECTLY which is so rare for my tiny self so I had to have it! I paired it with some gray tights from Target ($5) and my Ann Tuil suede shoes my mom brought me from Paris.

I got this top from Loehmann's. For those of you who have never heard of this place, it's like TJ Maxx but with way better (is that even correct grammar? it's late..) clothes. This top is from Free People, which is another one of those expensive places that makes me swoon. I paired it with a tissue thin pink top, skinny jeans, and my garage sale boots.

(And please forgive the weird angles... I was trying to hide my messy room. I don't get an evening at home to clean until Friday.)

One Act

I'm so excited to say that I am now officially a sponsor of a 16 year old girl named Dizy Wisna Purnama. She is from Indonesia..

Integrity Music (the company I work for) had its Seminars for Worship over the past few weeks. The final conference ended up in Mobile (where our US office is located). During the concert last night they showed a video for Compassion International. I grabbed this from their website:

"Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults.

Founded by the Rev. Everett Swanson in 1952, Compassion began providing Korean War orphans with food, shelter, education and health care, as well as Christian training.

Today, Compassion helps more than 1 million children in 26 countries."

Now I've heard all kinds of different child sponsor messages at different meetings, but what really touched me about this one was seeing a little boy thanking his sponsors, crying because he was so happy. They also showed several adults who had been sponsored and hearing their stories was so incredible, which you can watch here:

So, I decided to check out the website and see if it was something I really wanted to do. It's just $38 a month (which really isn't all that much) and you get to change a child's life forever.

One of the reasons I chose to sponsor Dizy was because she was older.. Everyone wants to grab up the little cuties, but the older ones often go overlooked. And at 24, I feel like I'm still young enough to relate to a 16 year old girl.

I'm so excited for this journey and I hope that I can be a positive influence in this lovely girl's life.

Do any of you sponsor a child? Would you ever consider sponsoring one?

Sufjan Stevens Concert Attire

We finally got back from Atlanta. I went shopping crazy. It's probably a very good thing that I don't live in a big city or I would be broke all of the time.

This was my outfit for the Sufjan Stevens concert last night.. It was also my shopping outfit for Anthropologie..
The top is from Anthropologie (I got it on sale). I'm pretty much in love with it..

Here is a close up of the boots:
These are from Clockwork Couture and can be found here. My mom got them for my birthday. They're faux leather but super comfortable.

It was a great trip that ended at PF Chang's. This was my fortune:

It was very appropriate. And roadtrips with my mom are always entertaining and occasionally hilarious.

Time for me to sleep as long as my alarm lets me..

PS: Stay tuned.. hopefully in the midst of my insane week I'll post some of the awesome things I got while in Atlanta. There are boots..

I got to visit my cousins in Jacksonville, FL the weekend before last.. I hadn't seen them in 4 years. I don't think I could have asked for a better time. :)

Boots of the day...

Can I just tell you how much I love these boots? I got them at our church's garage sale.. They're made with Italian leather. $10. Yes and Amen.
PS.. I'm kind of a hippie today. The ensemble includes crochet. I may post a picture when I get home tonight. :)
